While most or the population's children is going to school, there are many out there who have to start to work earlier that others. Children from immigrant families are working to help support their families while also hiding from the government because they aren't legally staying here. "'Even a small traffic stop could send us to deportation,'"says Jorge Jimenez, an immigrant from 1988. He has 4 children who are all american citizens. This could help save people like Jorge Jimenez from the terror of deportation and stay with his family. Some people have said that the president's decision was unconstitutional, but the president does have permission to "take care that all Laws be faithfully executed." The president's job is to take care of his people and not just the ones living here but all people. Doing this will help make those living in fear feel safer and more welcomed.
While you go out to buy yourself new clothes, there are many out there working for small amounts of money just to make ends meet. And many of those millions who live in fear of deportation, have now had a weight lifted off their shoulders. There are people out there that have to run away from their old homes and into the united states for what they believe is safety. But there are also many dangers in coming here as well. The president's actions may seem unconstitutional to some but to others, it could mean the difference between separation from their family.
I really liked your writing technique in your hook, and adding the details and quotes from Jorge Jiminez's experience added an emotional connection that made your work really strong.
ReplyDeleteI really like how you made me think and notice how much i have and how good my life is VS what immigrants lives are like. I can even imagine living in constant fear of being deported! Great work and great emotion (like Shanthi said) but also great portrayal of the article (I read the same one)! Great work overall! :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you compared and immigrant's life to one of any other person and quoted from an immigrant, it really creates emotion and gives an inside look into this topic!
